He is a follower of the great tradition of the “labiko” kaba of Bilbil Vlora, of the folk music school of the Mastora family from Dropulli as well as of the folk music tradition of the Greek minority in Albania.
“Tuli’s Kaba” is structured as a typical one-part kaba with a lament’s motif from Labëria and with frequent cadences in the minor septum.
The gërnet appears simple and restrained in elaboration of the lamenting motif but full of sweetness and clarity of the melodic phrases. Tuli naturally connects the features of Lab kaba with the Greek ones, when he uses the latter as a virtuoso development of the first material. Everything is in its place, despite the lack of a violin as “a cutter”, as long as it is replaced by the accordion. The texture of the kaba is smoothly and naturally elaborated on a rhythmic bed “ad libitum” mainly in the lower and middle register of the garnet.
The model of Delvina’s Saze was created through the kabas, dances and songs performed by Tuli Bajrami, a tradition that continues to this day.
In his Saze group, Tuli was also accompanied by Hasan Dino – lute; Aristidh Nini and Veli Majko – violin; Njazi Hisi – tambourine.
